Zurich-based financial boutique CAT Financial Products (CATFP) is expanding its presence in Switzerland with the opening of a new office in Lugano. This move marks the third location for CATFP, following Zurich and Geneva, as part of its growth strategy in structured investment solutions.

The Lugano office will be led by Laura Paganetti, who joined CATFP after a 27-year tenure at UBS. Starting in January 2024, CATFP will operate alongside CAT Wealth Management, making it the fourth office in Switzerland.

With the opening of the Lugano office, CATFP aims to further expand its operations in the region. David Schmid, Co-Head of CATFP, stated that this milestone represents a strategic development for the company and marks the beginning of the next phase of growth.

Paganetti, as the Lugano Manager, will be responsible for business development in the Ticino region. She will oversee a portfolio of professional asset managers, institutional investors, and banks in the Italian- and German-speaking parts of Switzerland. Prior to joining CATFP, Paganetti established the Lugano branch of Swiss financial boutique Sesame Financial Group and held various roles in UBS Wealth Management in Ticino for over 25 years.

In addition to the Lugano expansion, CATFP has also welcomed Iyngaran Kunapathy, who joined the company in the summer. Kunapathy will focus on further expanding CATFP’s presence in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. Previously, he led the Zurich branch of Sesame Financial Group and worked for UBS and Société Générale.

CAT Financial Products has been providing its services to professional asset managers, banks, and institutional investors since 2008. The company obtained its securities house license in 2023 and has since been expanding its product offerings, trading capabilities, and service offerings.
